Use this guide for best practices adding Contacts to Leasecake

Updated over a week ago

There are 2 ways to add Contacts to Leasecake:

Option 1: Add at the Entity Level (Location, Company, etc.)

  • Click into the entity for your associated contact. (i.e. Locations, Companies, Brands, Deals, Contracts, or Assets)

  • Move into the Contacts tab

  • Click Add Contact

  • Select New Contact if the contact does not exist in Leasecake yet.

  • Select Existing Contact if they have already been added elsewhere and you want to associate them to this entity as well.

    • Note: if you're adding one contact to multiple locations, assets, etc., click the Existing Contacts option to avoid duplicate contacts

  • Fill in all the required fields. Optional fields can be filled in as well, which will help enhance searchability and reporting of Contacts.

  • Click Save once done.

Option 2: Import

  • Click into the Settings tab

  • Click into the Import tab - note: The user will need Administrator user permission to access this.

  • Choose People.

  • Click Download Template.

    • You'll have the option to remove some fields off the import template if you'd like. Any Optional Fields on the template do not need to be filled out prior to import.

    • Click Download Template.

  • Fill out the fields in the spreadsheet.

    • Note: in order to associate your contacts to entities in Leasecake (Locations, Deals, Assets, etc.) you must fill out the 'Associated To' fields in the template

  • Once you populate the template, download as a CSV and re-upload within the People section of the Import tab

  • If there are any errors with the data entry, Leasecake will highlight the rows in yellow and allow you up update the data right with the platform.

  • Click Begin the Import.

You will now see all the imported contacts in the Contacts module as well as any associated places.

You can add Filters to create custom reports of your contacts.

Select Table View.
